Safety & Warnings
Interactions: Bisphosphonates are used to treat osteoporosis. Magnesium can interfere with the absorption of bisphosphonates if taken too closely together. It's generally recommended to take magnesium supplements at a different time of day than bisphosphonates to avoid this interaction. Some forms of antibiotics, especially quinolone antibiotics (like Ciprofloxacin) and tetracycline antibiotics, can have their absorption reduced by magnesium. To avoid this, take magnesium supplements at least 2 hours before or after the antibiotic. Magnesium has been shown to interfere with the absorption of thyroid medications including Levothyroxine, Liothyronine and Naturally Desiccated Thyroid (NDT) preparations. Aim to take magnesium supplements at least 2 hours away from any thyroid medication you may be taking.
If you are taking these medications or any other medication, please first speak with your doctor before adding Magnesium Glycinate to your supplement regime.
