    Interactions: Lunar contains 5HTP, Magnesium and Apigenin. As a result, Lunar may interact with the following: Antidepressants: 5HTP when taken alongside certain antidepressants can increase serotonin levels to a dangerously high level. Sedatives: Apigenin has sedative effects and may enhance the sedative effects of certain anti-anxiety medications including Diazepam. Hormone Replacement Therapies: Apgenin may act in a similar way to the hormone Oestrogen and therefore interfere with certain hormone replacement therapy interventions. If you are taking these medications or any other medication, please first speak with your doctor before adding Apigenin to your supplement regime. Similarly, Magnesium may interfere with the absorption of thyroid medications. Anticoagulants: Apigenin is known to interact with members of the Cytochrome P450 class of enzymes. As a result, it may interfere with antiplatelet and anticoagulant medications such as Warfarin and Aspirin. If you are taking these medications (or any other medication), please first speak with your doctor before adding Lunar to your supplement regime.

    Formulated with five natural ingredients, Lunar is designed to enhance three aspects of sleep – reducing the time it takes to fall asleep, minimising nighttime awakenings and increasing total sleep duration. 

    Tart Cherry Extract

    Tart cherry extract is a natural source of melatonin, a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. Melatonin levels typically increase in response to darkness, signalling the body to prepare for sleep. Tart cherry extract supports melatonin production by increasing the availability of tryptophan, a Melatonin precursor. Studies suggest tart cherry extract might inhibit the activity of an enzyme that can break down tryptophan. This could allow more tryptophan to be converted into melatonin.

    5-HTP

    5-HTP is a direct precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and sleep. Since serotonin is a precursor to melatonin, taking 5-HTP may support sleep by indirectly boosting natural melatonin production. 5-HTP crosses the blood-brain barrier and is converted into serotonin, raising serotonin levels in neural connections. This increase in serotonin can promote melatonin production in the brain.

    Apigenin

    GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a key neurotransmitter that reduces neural excitability. Apigenin primarily impacts the brain’s GABAergic system by binding to GABA-A receptors, enhancing GABA’s excitability-reducing effect. Apigenin’s binding increases GABAergic signalling, which helps reduce brain overactivity. Apigenin also inhibits enzymes involved in cortisol production, indirectly reducing the stress response, which can affect sleep.

    L-Theanine

    L-theanine is an amino acid that affects the brain’s alpha wave activity, which is associated with relaxation without drowsiness. It also regulates the release of neurotransmitters, including GABA, serotonin, and dopamine, which are linked to mood and relaxation. L-theanine increases GABAergic signalling, enhancing GABA production and release, which reduces brain excitability.

    Magnesium

    Magnesium binds to and activates GABA-A receptors, increasing GABAergic signalling in the brain. This process reduces neural excitability, contributing to relaxation. Magnesium is also involved in stabilising NMDA receptors (which are linked to excitatory neurotransmission) and supporting the production and release of serotonin, a precursor to melatonin.

Factors like stress, lifestyle choices, and dietary choices often upset natural sleep patterns.     Frequently Asked Questions

    While safe for nightly use, we recommend that you use Lunar on an as-needed basis, preferably no more than 4-5 nights a week. This is to ensure that you do not develop a tolerance to Lunar or any of its ingredients.

    If you feel tired in the morning after taking Lunar, we recommend that you spend a few minutes in direct morning sunlight or under a bright light to help reduce the after-effects. You may also wish to lower your dosage to one you feel you can best tolerate.

    If used in excess, Lunar may result in an imbalance in neurotransmitters. To avoid this, we suggest supplementing with Essential Amino Acids in the morning to help manage any potential side effects.

    To ensure optimal sleep, we recommend that you follow healthy sleep hygiene practices. These include:

    – Not eating at least 2 hours before sleep
    – Ensuring that your room is cool and dark
    – Using blue-light blocking glasses in the early evening
    – Not using devices and screens within an hour of sleep
    – Using mouth tape and airway nasal strips to enhance nighttime breathing and whole-body oxygenation.

    How to claim the guarantee

    • We'll send you the address to return your product to. Please include a note with your order number inside the parcel so we can identify your return.

    Return shipping costs: You'll need to arrange and pay for return shipping unless the product arrived faulty or damaged. All returns are sent to our UK return address. If you're ordering from outside the UK, please keep in mind that international return shipping can be expensive.

    Multiple bottles or larger quantities: If you buy multiple bottles or a larger quantity of the same product in a single order, the guarantee covers the use of one bottle, or the smallest individual size supplied. Any additional unopened units must be returned to receive a refund.

    For example, if you order 180 capsules and receive 2 × 90-capsule bottles, you can open and use one 90-capsule bottle. The second bottle must be returned.
