Discontinued.

Following our long-term stability testing, we have decided to discontinue this product.

Our testing identified a decline in viable probiotic counts over time, raising questions about the ability of certain probiotic formulations to maintain their stated potency throughout their shelf life.

We believe this may reflect a wider challenge within the probiotic industry, although further research is needed.

As part of our commitment to transparency and product quality, we have decided to discontinue the product until we can consistently demonstrate probiotic stability.

Everything You Need To Know About Culture® Probiotic

Probiotics are live microorganisms—primarily bacteria and yeasts—that naturally inhabit our digestive system or are introduced through fermented foods and supplements.

In the intestines, probiotics attach to the gut lining and start to break down undigested fibers and other nutrients in our gut through fermentation, a process that produces short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like butyrate, acetate, and propionate. These SCFAs serve as a primary energy source for the cells lining the colon. They help regulate inflammation, and maintain a healthy pH in the gut. Some probiotic strains produce vitamins (such as certain B vitamins and vitamin K) during fermentation, contributing extra nutrients.

In addition, probiotics compete with harmful bacteria for space and nutrients, preventing them from taking hold in your digestive system. They also produce natural antimicrobial substances, such as bacteriocins, which help suppress the growth of undesirable microbes. Probiotics strengthen the gut barrier by enhancing mucus production and tightening the connections between intestinal cells, reducing the risk of toxins and pathogens entering your bloodstream. Since a large portion of our immune system resides in the gut, probiotics also interact with immune cells to modulate inflammatory responses.

Each probiotic species have been studied for differing effects.

Saccharomyces boulardii helps to regulate the health of the microbiome by blocking dangerous bacteria such as Clostridioides difficile. It does this by secreting protein-digesting enzymes that break down the bacteria, and by reducing inflammation through lowering anti-inflammatory molecules called transcription factors.

In addition, Lactic acid-forming bacteria work to increase levels of specific proteins in the small intestine and in doing so lower the incidence of intestinal permeability (Leaky Gut). This is a condition where unwanted food particles and other components of the digestive tract leak into the blood stream, causing high levels of inflammation and cellular dysfunction. These same bacteria also produce butyrate, a type of short chain fatty acid (a type fat molecule) that works to support the health and lining of the gut by increasing the production of a substance called Mucin.

Bacillus coagulans, a spore-forming probiotic, is able to withstand the harsh stomach environment and enter the small intestine. In this less acidic environment, it then germinates and produces enzymes and antimicrobial compounds that balance gut flora, thereby alleviating symptoms of constipation and bloating by improving the rate at which food moves through the digestive tract.

Probiotics have been shown to help support a healthy immune system by interacting with certain cells in the protective lining of the small intestine, known as gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). This interaction helps to strengthen both branches of the body’s immune system.

Specifically, probiotics like Saccharomyces boulardii support a healthy immune response by increasing levels of an antibody called secretory IgA, an immune-modulating substance that helps protect the gut lining from infections. This action is complemented by the other strains in Culture® such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, which work to lower inflammation and improve immunity. They do this by releasing anti-inflammatory molecules such as IL-10 whilst also blocking the action of inflammatory ones such as IL-6 and TNF-Alpha. Additionally, spore-based probiotics such as Bacillus coagulans support the immune system by encouraging the growth of key immune cells (T-cells), and by increasing the production of immune-signaling molecules called cytokines, which work in the body to coordinate immune responses to inflammation.

Zinc L-Carnosine works primarily by binding to the stomach lining, where it promotes healing and protects the tissue from damage. It also stimulates mucus secretion in the stomach, enhancing the protective barrier. This mucus layer prevents acid and digestive enzymes from irritating the stomach lining, further promoting healing. Additionally, it inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory molecules, reducing inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

A healthy gut supports efficient digestion, smooth nutrient absorption, and a well-regulated immune response. When your gut is balanced, you typically experience regular bowel movements, minimal bloating, consistent energy levels, and even improved mood—thanks to the gut-brain connection. Gut dysfunction can be triggered by a diet low in fiber and high in processed foods, excessive sugars and unhealthy fats, chronic stress, and the overuse of antibiotics. When the balance in your gut is disturbed, it can lead to digestive discomfort, such as bloating, gas, and irregular bowel movements. A compromised gut barrier—often referred to as “leaky gut”—can let toxins and pathogens slip into the bloodstream, triggering systemic inflammation. Over time, this dysfunction is linked to a range of health issues, including metabolic disorders, autoimmune conditions, and mood imbalances.

As we age, the balance of our gut microbiome often shifts—beneficial bacteria can dwindle while less desirable microbes take hold. Emerging research suggests that a balanced microbiome may help curb chronic, low-grade inflammation—a significant contributor to age-related decline. By restoring and maintaining a healthy microbial balance, probiotics help fortify the gut barrier, support efficient digestion, promote better nutrient uptake, and modulate immune responses to reduce inflammation—all of which contribute to long-term health.

  • I frequently get sick and want to strengthen my immune system naturally.
  • I feel low on energy and suspect that my gut health may be affecting my vitality.
  • I want to improve my skin health and appearance, and I’ve heard that gut health can play a role.
  • I am recovering from a serious illness or antibiotic treatment and want to restore the balance of good bacteria in my gut.

Frequently Asked Questions

A balanced diet rich in fermented foods is a great source of probiotics. However because these foods contain such varied doses of probiotics, it may be difficult to obtain the same results found in studies that use supplemental forms.

This depends on why you are taking Culture®. We generally recommend that an individual trials Culture® for at least 2 months. This will allow the body long enough to adapt to the positive benefits of the product. You will then be able to determine whether or not Culture® is right for you for longer term use.

The latest literature suggests that certain conditions such as SIBO or IBS can be made worse by prebiotics. We therefore decided not to include any prebiotics in Culture®.

The Culture® probiotic formula contains many strains from the genera Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Streptococcus, and Bacillus. Most of these are lactic acid bacteria — meaning they naturally ferment sugars like lactose (the sugar in milk) or lactic acid producing.

Possible reasons for additional flatulence include:

  • Lactose Fermentation: Some probiotic strains (especially Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Streptococcus thermophilus) break down lactose into lactic acid. During this process, gases like hydrogen and carbon dioxide can be produced, leading to bloating and flatulence.
  • Overactive Fermentation: When you suddenly introduce a lot of dairy plus strong probiotic strains, it can cause rapid fermentation in your gut — especially if your body isn’t used to handling extra lactose or the metabolic byproducts.
  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) Potential: In sensitive individuals, introducing high CFUs of probiotics with dairy can temporarily mimic or worsen mild SIBO symptoms — more fermentation in the small intestine rather than the large bowel, which creates more gas and discomfort.

The flatulence most likely comes from the lactic acid bacteria strains fermenting the milk sugars (lactose) before your body has fully absorbed them.

Some tips for reducing this side effect:

  • Ease into dairy while taking strong probiotics.
  • Use lactose-free milk when taking the probiotic if you’re sensitive.
  • Timing: Take probiotics away from dairy meals to assess tolerance (e.g., probiotic in morning, dairy at night).
  • Digestive Enzymes: Adding a lactase enzyme supplement with your dairy intake can help minimise gas.

We want you to feel confident trying our products. If you're not satisfied for any reason, you can return your product within 60 days of receiving it for a full refund.

This includes if you've changed your mind, haven't noticed the difference you hoped for, experienced side effects, or simply decided the product isn't right for you.

    How to claim the guarantee

    • Email returns@vitality-pro.com with your order number, which you'll find in your order confirmation email.
    • We'll send you the address to return your product to. Please include a note with your order number inside the parcel so we can identify your return.
    • Once your return is received, we'll process your refund within 7 days.

Return shipping costs: You'll need to arrange and pay for return shipping unless the product arrived faulty or damaged. All returns are sent to our UK return address. If you're ordering from outside the UK, please keep in mind that international return shipping can be expensive.

Multiple bottles or larger quantities: If you buy multiple bottles or a larger quantity of the same product in a single order, the guarantee covers the use of one bottle, or the smallest individual size supplied. Any additional unopened units must be returned to receive a refund.

For example, if you order 180 capsules and receive 2 × 90-capsule bottles, you can open and use one 90-capsule bottle. The second bottle must be returned.

The 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee does not apply to our 100g NMN or 100g Resveratrol products, as we offer smaller 20g and 30g options to give you the opportunity to try the product before committing to a larger supply.
