Interactions: Bisphosphonates are used to treat osteoporosis. Magnesium can interfere with the absorption of bisphosphonates if taken too closely together. It’s generally recommended to take magnesium supplements at a different time of day than bisphosphonates to avoid this interaction. Some forms of antibiotics, especially quinolone antibiotics (like Ciprofloxacin) and tetracycline antibiotics, can have their absorption reduced by magnesium. To avoid this, take magnesium supplements at least 2 hours before or after the antibiotic. Magnesium has been shown to interfere with the absorption of thyroid medications including Levothyroxine, Liothyronine and Naturally Desiccated Thyroid (NDT) preparations. Aim to take magnesium supplements at least 2 hours away from any thyroid medication you may be taking.
If you are taking these medications or any other medication, please first speak with your doctor before adding Magnesium Glycinate to your supplement regime.

A form of magnesium that combines magnesium with the amino acid glycine, Magnesium Glycinate is known for its ability to be easily absorbed by the body. Known to support over 300 bodily reactions, ample levels of magnesium are associated with restorative sleep, improved cognition and brain health, a healthy blood sugar response, and high bone density.
Magnesium glycinate’s high rate of absorption is due to its binding with glycine, which enhances magnesium’s solubility and intestinal absorption while minimising its laxative effect.
Magnesium acts as an essential nutrient by serving as a cofactor for over 300 enzymatic reactions necessary for essential bodily functions. Cofactors assist enzyme reactions by stabilising interactions or participating directly in the chemical transformation. To name a few:
In the mitochondria, magnesium acts as a cofactor for enzymes to convert food (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins) into cellular energy known as ATP. Once created, Magnesium also stabilises the structure by binding to ATP, making it available for various cellular processes.
Magnesium also assists with GABA by regulating its activity and promoting its binding to GABA receptors. Magnesium acts as a natural calcium blocker, preventing excessive calcium from entering neurons, which can lead to overstimulation. This allows GABA, the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter, to function more effectively in calming the nervous system.
Magnesium is essential for brain function by influencing the growth and density of new brain connections.
Optimal magnesium levels help manage stress and promote relaxation, as low magnesium disrupts GABA regulation, affecting sleep and increasing stress. Magnesium is also important for muscle function and relaxation, helping prevent cramps and tension, especially in active individuals. Additionally, it supports efficient energy production, as low magnesium can impair cellular energy production, leading to fatigue, reduced endurance, and compromised cellular function.
As we age, magnesium levels decline due to diet, reduced absorption, and increased excretion. This decline impacts energy levels, muscle health, and nervous system function. By supporting cellular energy production, muscle recovery, and relaxation, magnesium glycinate helps maintain physical and mental ability, which is essential for healthy ageing and longevity.

We are committed to the following quality controls to ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency in every product. Our goal is to raise industry standards and give you clear reasons to trust what you’re taking.
All products are made to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, the global benchmark for supplement quality. GMP standards ensure strict control over how our supplements are produced, covering everything from cleanliness to documentation and quality control. Every step is monitored to guarantee consistency and safety in every batch, so you receive the same high-quality product every time.
Created by the US FDA, GMP regulations legally require manufacturers to ensure product safety, purity, and effectiveness. GMP minimises contamination, mix-ups, and errors, protecting consumers from ineffective or unsafe products.
GMP Guidelines Overview:
At the foundation of what we offer is certainty of product quality through consistent third-party testing, specifically for purity.
In an industry where many supplement providers cannot be fully certain of their product quality, third-party testing is essential to ensure purity and safety. This process removes uncertainty, so you can be confident that you’re taking supplements that are both safe and effective.
Every active ingredient in every batch of vitalityPRO products is independently tested by accredited laboratories to ensure unbiased analysis of purity.
Additional third-party testing screens for contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes, ensuring that each product is safe for consumption. Although certificates are provided by the manufacturer, this independent validation goes beyond standard testing, adding an extra layer of quality control.
Independent third-party testing ensures that you receive reliable, high-quality products every time.
ISO 9001:2015 standards are an internationally recognised framework for effective quality management. This accreditation means we follow a structured system of continuous improvement, always refining our processes to enhance product consistency and customer satisfaction. ISO accreditation ensures that every aspect of our operations—from production to customer service—is optimised. This means better oversight, reduced risk of errors, and a clear focus on delivering consistent results.
ISO 9001:2015 accreditation highlights a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
We believe you should have full clarity about what you’re putting in your body and the steps we take to ensure the quality of our supplements. That’s why we are transparent and open about every part of our process.
Transparency means we share all the details that matter—how our products are made, tested, and verified. From publishing third-party test results to offering clear ingredient labels, we provide you with the information you need to make informed choices about your supplements. Nothing is hidden, and every product comes with full accountability.
‘Fully reacted’ means the magnesium in the supplement has completely bonded with glycine, providing a consistent, reliable dose of magnesium. Some products ‘buffer’ magnesium with cheaper forms like magnesium oxide to increase magnesium content without improving quality. We ensure only fully reacted magnesium glycinate in your capsules for purity and better results.
Yes, magnesium glycinate and magnesium bisglycinate refer to the same compound, just with different names. Both contain one magnesium ion bound to two glycine molecules, with identical molecular structures (C4H8MgN2O4). The term ‘magnesium glycinate’ is a common name, while ‘magnesium bisglycinate’ is the precise chemical term. The belief that magnesium glycinate contains only one glycine molecule is incorrect; this form doesn’t exist. You can verify this on PubChem: Glycinate and Bisglycinate.
When calcium enters a cell, it activates numerous processes within that cell, including neurochemical release and muscle activation, both of which can disrupt sleep. Magnesium works to limit how much calcium can enter a cell and, in doing so, slows down any excess activity in the body, leading to a calmer, more relaxed state. Having a high body temperature at night can inhibit sleep. Glycine works alongside magnesium to help lower the core body temperature by increasing blood flow to the skin, allowing excess heat to leave the body.
Collectively, these mechanisms of Magnesium Glycinate may help to calm and cool the body, preparing it for a restful night of sleep.
People who take prescription medications should consult with their doctor before taking magnesium supplements. Magnesium can interfere with how the body processes certain medications. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also consult with their doctor before supplementing with magnesium.
