Glycine and NAC are powerful amino acids that play a role in the synthesis and maintenance of glutathione. Glutathione acts as an important antioxidant and is key to the synthesis of proteins, the detoxification of harmful substances, and the regulation of immune function.
I like to take vitamins and supplements as they have helped with my overall health and wellbeing in a most positive way…
This supplement looks like it will be ideal as a extra boost for your overall health and wellbeing especially if you are lining a busy lifestyle or could help with a extra boost to your health and immune system.
My advice is always to try a tub and see if you feel the health benefits..
Glycine is the most essential and simple nonessential amino acid in humans, animals, and many mammals. Generally, glycine is synthesised from choline, serine, hydroxyproline, and threonine through interorgan metabolism in which kidneys and liver are primarily involved. Glycine acts as a precursor for several key metabolites of low molecular weight, such as creatine, glutathione, haem, purines, and porphyrins. Glycine effectively improves health and supports the growth and well-being of humans and animals. There are overwhelming reports supporting the role of supplementary glycine in preventing many diseases and disorders, including cancer. Dietary supplementation of proper glycine dose effectively treats metabolic disorders in patients with cardiovascular diseases, several inflammatory diseases, obesity, cancers, and diabetes. Glycine also has the property to enhance the quality of sleep and neurological functions.
A few studies have found that supplementation with glycine can improve sleep quality, with subsequent benefits to cognitive function. High doses of glycine have been shown to improve symptoms of schizophrenia. Glycine may reduce the blood glucose response to carbohydrate ingestion.
Glycine is a major component of collagen (around 25% by weight), often taken to improve joint health, but human evidence in this area is currently lacking.
As a nutritional supplement, N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is an extensively applied antioxidant in vivo and in vitro. NAC is a precursor of L-cysteine that results in glutathione elevation biosynthesis. It acts directly as a scavenger of free radicals, especially oxygen radicals. NAC is a powerful antioxidant. It is also recommended as a potential treatment option for different disorders resulting from generating free oxygen radicals. Additionally, it is a protected and endured mucolytic drug that mellows tenacious mucous discharges. It has been used for treating various diseases directly or in combination with other medications.
A review of NAC literature shows that this agent is a safe and well-tolerated supplementary drug without any considerable side effects. It has been used as a beneficial drug treatment for some disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome patients with CC resistance, preterm birth, acetaminophen toxicity, RPL, chronic bronchitis, ulcerative colitis, liver cancer, muscle performance, hemodialysis, asthma, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson.
This nutritional supplement is an excellent source of sulphydryl groups, which is why it smells so atrociously of sulphur. When I first started taking NAC supplements, I laughed at how badly they smelled. Nonetheless, its extraordinary benefits make it a preferred supplement for me.
The GlyNAC supplement is the fourth I have purchased from Vitality Pro, and I am delighted with their approach to the environment by having biodegradable tubs. Moreover, I am impressed with the premium quality and purity of the ingredients. I trust the brand because they deliver superior supplements. I am saying this as a supplement freak who will start rattling soon 😊.
It is recommended to take two to three capsules daily, and I decided to take two in the morning with breakfast. I cannot comment on the effects, although I took NAC alone for approximately two months before starting with the Vitality Pro. Nevertheless, I am excited and happy to continue taking it and order some more. I wholeheartedly recommend the company for its superior quality products and eco-approach!
I really appreciate the fact that this is a clearly marked vegan supplement with a vegetarian capsule shell. The capsules are typical size and easy enough to swallow. You are getting 90 here and if you stick to the recommended serving size of 2-3 then they will last you at least a month. Pretty good value for money. You get a decent expiry date so more than enough time to use this supplement up. Certainly one to consider.
Whoever is moaning about the product smelling weird needs to revisit organic chem 101. GlyNac is comprised of Glycine and N-Acetyl Cysteine, the latter of which is a Sulphur containing amino acid. It’s supposed to smell a bit off! Yeah, I’m on a little bit of a rant at the moment but really… If you have a product that contains NAC that doesn’t smell then chances are it’s inert and dead. #firstworldproblems?
As far as the product itself is concerned, well I’m pretty stoked about it. Ordinarily, I’d take NAC and Glycine separately so when I discovered them both in one supp I was pretty much sold on the spot. I pop 2 – 3 daily and have found that both my sleep and general energy levels have improved.
Too early to tell the efficacy of the supplement but they are very easy to take daily, reasonably priced for the amount, I will update further down the line
I don’t expect much but this product surprised me in positive way. I can see the skin improvements but also general improvement to my wellbeing i would buy another pack.
Cannot sing NAC’s praises enough!
During these Interesting Times, it’s one of the very most wonderful things you can take.
Fair warning, it smells awful (not just this brand, NAC in general has a sort of sulphur smell, and you will taste it if you don’t get it down quick… but it’s so worth it!)
It’s a building block of glutathione, which is one of the body’s most powerful antioxidants. It fights cellular damage and it is known to increase longevity. It’s incredible stuff!
Plus they’ve added Glycine – another wonder supplement which is amazing for longevity, amongst other things. Just marvellous all round.
The bottle is £25.99… but. The directions say to take 2 – 3 capsules a day, meaning that £25.99 will only last you a month, or a month and a half. That makes it expensive. But it makes it good value when you consider that it’s Glycine plus NAC.
Plus, HUGE bonus: they haven’t added maltodextrin. I love them for that.
Great value for money. There is no powdery residue inside the bottle, so its contents are well protected. There are no nasty smells or tastes and the tablets are easy to swallow. I trust that they contain what they claim to, and as such I am very pleased.
Third Party Tested so you can guarantee good quality
I am an aging woman and I really need some extra to age gracefully.
This supplement is easy to swallow and doesn’t need a funny aftertaste.
It helps me to sleep and don’t wake up during the night.
I really like this product and gladly recommend it.
This is easy to swallow and with good concentration.
Aids your glutathione production and protects your body from oxidative stress.
I say that for the benefits of this supple6, it is good value.
The pills are easy to swallow and they don’t have any terrible aftertaste. I hope to see some results soon, I will keep you updated. For now, nothing to complain.
I’ve been taking these for a week but can’t say I have noticed any significant effects. That’s not to say they’re not doing anything though. Easy to swallow.
I take a broad spectrum of supplements daily. I have a small bowl of tablets and capsules to get through. Ease of swallowing is therefore a VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR for me. I find these CAPSULES (see pic) EASY TO SWALLOW despite their size and because they are not at all powdery. They are not ‘dry’ in the mouth. This is why I usually prefer capsules.
In the interest of curiosity (and I’m not recommending this) I allowed one to stay in my mouth to see what would happen. It did NOT QUICKLY DISINTEGRATE. It was not unpleasant. I then chewed it up. The powder inside and the remains of the capsule formed a paste which wasn’t too slimy. The taste was quite foul. I didn’t feel compelled to spit it out… so it wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t pleasant. I was able to let my mouth clear itself without a drink of water. It was chemical tasting and sour is how I’d describe it. There’s a slight odour too.
I much prefer a plastic bottle THIS IS A GOOD ONE!
I am taking this supplement and so far I feel great. I’m not in a position to provide scientific data from my simple experiments but I’m very practised at listening to my body and mind. I’m happy to continue with this supplement.
I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.
The supplement was easy to swallow though though they are slightly large. I haven’t noticed any effects to take note of yet but I haven’t had any negative side effects either luckily. I understand that this is a fairly new compound and there is still more research to be done but the quality of the supplement seems to be very good. I’d recommend it, though more research on my part may be needed to best understand the benefits.
This Supplement is made up of two parts, Glycine and N-Acetyl Cysteine hence the name “GlyNac”. The NAC part of the formula has a naturally occurring sulphuric smell and if this wasn’t the case then we would question the efficacy and freshness of the supplement. While the supplement may smell slightly odorous, this blend is meant to help with free radical damage and can also help sleep quality – this is why I got excited to try such a new and different supplement.
Glynac has an impressive list of reported benefits and is the subject of a lot of current research into health, longevity and performance supplements, so it’s great to see a convenient, easily available source from a trusted supplier. The compound is supplied in large capsule format, quite easily swallowed with a glass of water. There is a slight odour to them in the tub, which is completely expected thanks to the high sulphur content.
A flexible dose of 2 or 3 capsules daily is suggested, making a single pack stretch 45 or 30 days respectively. While that makes it slightly pricier than some other Glynac products at the current price point of around £25, it’s a product that comes with confidence thanks to the additional ISO standards check – good to have that peace of mind, especially when taking a new dietary supplement.
It’s a great, convenient format if you’re looking to include a multipurpose supplement with a bit of a buzz around it into your diet. Add to that the fact that it’s really nicely presented, and it’s a winner.
Really great quality and hard to find supplement which is currently the subject of clinical research as a treatment for ageing.
Firstly, love the branding, packaging and the information provided on the bottle, very well presented and designed with the user in mind. I’ve been taking the product daily since it arrived in early Feb, I wanted to wait until I’d tried the product before reviewing. I feel like I’m sleeping better with fewer periods of waking/ stirring in the middle of the night, I’ll keep taking the supplement and look to purchase again when I’m running low!
