Fisetin

Take 1–2 capsules per day with a meal containing healthy fats. Alternatively, you may want to explore the Mayo Protocol, which involves taking high doses of fisetin for two consecutive days each month.

Fisetin is fat-soluble, meaning it is better absorbed by the body when taken with a fat source. This can be a meal or a healthy snack, such as avocado, yoghurt, coconut, or extra virgin olive oil.

As fisetin is an antioxidant, we recommend to avoid taking it around periods of resistance exercise or weight training, as it may reduce some of the workout’s positive effects.

Fisetin is a senotherapeutic that extends health and lifespan – Preclinical Animal Study

Dosage: Mice were treated with 100mg/kg of Fisetin.
Outcome: Fisetin reduced ageing markers in tissues, decreased age-related diseases, and increased lifespan in mice.
Summary: Fisetin, a natural compound was shown to significantly decrease signs of ageing in mice and in human fat tissue samples. Mice treated with fisetin lived longer and had fewer age-related health issues. This suggests fisetin could potentially be used to improve health and longevity in humans.

Fisetin Capsule 1

What is it?

Fisetin is a naturally occurring plant flavonoid that is found in strawberries, apples, persimmons and cucumbers.

A study published in EBioMedicine demonstrated that Fisetin was the most effective compound among those tested, significantly reducing senescent cell burden in multiple tissues.

Senolytic

Fisetin primarily acts as a senolytic by selectively clearing senescent cells, which are cells that have stopped dividing but do not die. These cells release harmful molecules that promote inflammation and tissue damage. Over time, their accumulation leads to increased age-related inflammation, known as inflammaging.

Fisetin promotes apoptosis (programmed cell death) in senescent cells by inhibiting their overactive survivial pathways making them more susceptible to cell death signals.

While healthy cells also have survival pathways, they rely on them in a balanced way. Senescent cells depend heavily on these overactive pathways to avoid apoptosis. By targeting these exaggerated survival pathways, Fisetin selectively eliminates senescent cells, reducing their build-up and the associated inflammation, while sparing healthy cells.

Inflammation

Fisetin helps control inflammation by blocking specific cellular signals that would otherwise lead to the production of inflammatory molecules. By preventing this chain reaction, fisetin may reduce the activity of inflammatory molecules, which are responsible for triggering inflammation. Additionally, fisetin boosts antioxidant levels, particularly glutathione, to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) and other free radicals, lowering oxidative stress and inflammation.

Fisetin life 1

Why is it important?

In a healthy body, senescent cells are cleared efficiently to prevent them from releasing pro-inflammatory signals.  Over time cells that are less efficient in DNA repair and protein folding also accumulate damage more readily, which encourages them to become senescent. Also, the immune system weakens (a process called immunosenescence), reducing its capacity to detect and eliminate senescent cells. As senescent cells accumulate, so does chronic inflammation, increasing demand on the body’s resources to combat it, as well as causing cellular damage.

Fisetin and longevity

One of the most effective approaches to counteracting aging is clearing senescent cells. Senescent cells release inflammatory molecules and contribute to persistent low-grade inflammation, known as ‘inflammaging.’ Fisetin’s ability to target and remove these cells may reduce inflammation and oxidative damage, improving overall cellular health and increasing resilience to age-related decline.

Is Fisetin right for you?

Consider the following statements. If you find one or more relatable, Fisetin might be the wellness support you’ve been searching for:

  • I am interested in incorporating senolytics into my longevity protocol to combat ageing at the cellular level.
  • I need to manage my inflammation without affecting my histamine levels too much, as I’ve experienced with quercetin.
  • I wish to support my cognitive function as I age and want to explore the potential benefits that fisetin may have on brain health.
  • I am looking for a senolytic that is more targeted in its approach and has fewer effects elsewhere in the body.
  • A health professional recommended Fisetin.

Certainty of purity.

We are committed to the following quality controls to ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency in every product. Our goal is to raise industry standards and give you clear reasons to trust what you’re taking.

All products are made to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, the global benchmark for supplement quality. GMP standards ensure strict control over how our supplements are produced, covering everything from cleanliness to documentation and quality control. Every step is monitored to guarantee consistency and safety in every batch, so you receive the same high-quality product every time.

Created by the US FDA, GMP regulations legally require manufacturers to ensure product safety, purity, and effectiveness. GMP minimises contamination, mix-ups, and errors, protecting consumers from ineffective or unsafe products.

GMP Guidelines Overview:

  • Manufacturing facilities must maintain a clean, hygienic environment in all areas, including labs and storage.
  • Facility design, operations, and environmental conditions must prevent cross-contamination of drug products and materials.
  • Manufacturing processes must be clearly defined, validated, and controlled to ensure consistency and compliance. Any process changes are evaluated for patient safety and product quality, with necessary validation.
  • Instructions and procedures must be written clearly and unambiguously.
  • Operators must be trained to follow approved procedures for production and control.
  • Records should be kept during manufacturing and quality control to confirm that all required steps and quality standards were met.
  • Discrepancies are investigated and documented.
  • Processes should remain controlled throughout the product life cycle, with improvements as needed.
Records of manufacturing and distribution must be retained in an accessible format to trace the complete batch history.

At the foundation of what we offer is certainty of product quality through consistent third-party testing, specifically for purity.

In an industry where many supplement providers cannot be fully certain of their product quality, third-party testing is essential to ensure purity and safety. This process removes uncertainty, so you can be confident that you’re taking supplements that are both safe and effective.

Every active ingredient in every batch of vitalityPRO products is independently tested by accredited laboratories to ensure unbiased analysis of purity.

Additional third-party testing screens for contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes, ensuring that each product is safe for consumption. Although certificates are provided by the manufacturer, this independent validation goes beyond standard testing, adding an extra layer of quality control.

Independent third-party testing ensures that you receive reliable, high-quality products every time.

ISO 9001:2015 standards are an internationally recognised framework for effective quality management. This accreditation means we follow a structured system of continuous improvement, always refining our processes to enhance product consistency and customer satisfaction. Frequently Asked Questions

In a healthy state, most cells replicate a certain number of times and then die to allow for the replacement of old or damaged cells. Senescent cells have stopped dividing but do not die and remain in the body. As we age, these cells can accumulate and release pro-inflammatory substances, leading to inflammation in surrounding cells. Research has shown a direct correlation between the presence of senescent cells and the ageing process.

Yes, in lower dosages of 100 to 200 mgs, Fisetin is safe to take on a daily basis.

Some individuals choose to run Fisetin in high doses for short periods of time and are using dosing protocols based on studies currently being conducted by the Mayo Clinic.

The Mayo Protocol dosages are:

  • 20 mg/kg of body weight per day
  • Taken for 2 consecutive days
  • Repeated monthly for 3 months

This would be approximately 1,400 mg daily for a 70 kg (154 lb) person.

Both Fisetin and Quercetin are believed to be powerful natural senolytics. Their differences lie in their ‘off-target’ effects or their ability to work elsewhere in the body.

Fisetin is thought to be the most powerful natural senolytic. It may also work to improve various aspects of brain health because of its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. Quercetin, in addition to being a senolytic, has been shown to regulate blood sugar and help control the release of the chemical in the body responsible for allergic reactions thereby showing promise in helping to control the effects of seasonal allergies.
