Creatine

For best results, take 5 grams of creatine in the morning or evening. Creatine is water soluble meaning it can be taken with or without food.

If you experience nausea when taking Creatine on an empty stomach, we suggest you take it with a meal.

It was previously thought that creatine required a loading phase. New evidence now indicates that saturation of muscle cells with creatine can be accomplished without such a phase.

Purest Creatine 1

What is it?

Creatine is a natural compound that is produced by the body from the amino acids, glycine and arginine. It is primarily found in skeletal muscle, with smaller amounts in the brain, heart, and other tissues. Dietary creatine is primarily obtained from animal-based foods—red meat, poultry, and fish being among the richest sources.

Pürest Creatine™ is NNB Nutrition’s branded creatine monohydrate. Creatine monohydrate is the most widely studied form of creatine and is proven to be safe and effective. Pürest Creatine™ is manufactured to stringent purity specifications, with third-party testing showing no detectable DCD or DHT and exceptionally low levels of other common creatine impurities.

How it works?

Creatine primary role is to maintain the cycle of regenerating cellular energy known as ATP, the body’s main energy source and provides energy to cells of the body, quickly and when needed.

When the body uses the bodies main source of cellular energy known as ATP – it depletes into ADP. Creatine (as phosphocreatine) quickly adds the phosphate group to ADP, turning it back into ATP. This action helps reduce the strain on mitochondria to constantly produce new ATP for use by the body as energy.

Creatine comes in two forms: free-form creatine and phosphocreatine. Phosphocreatine is the “charged” form because it carries a phosphate group that stores energy. When this phosphate group is transferred to ADP to form ATP, phosphocreatine reverts back to free creatine. Free creatine is then available to pick up another phosphate group and be recharged with energy again. Without the phosphate group, creatine primarily serves as the precursor and reserve that can be quickly converted into phosphocreatine when needed.

Creatine also acts as an antioxidant and helps to reduce high levels of oxidative stress and lower inflammation by scavenging harmful molecules called free radicals.

In the brain, creatine enhances cognitive function by increasing energy availability to brain cells called neurons. It does this by increasing levels of ATP, ensuring that neurons have sufficient energy to perform tasks such as signal transmission. Additionally, studies have observed that creatine can improve memory, attention, and overall mental performance, especially during periods of sleep deprivation or mental fatigue.

As a result of these mechanisms, creatine has been studied and shown to improve brain function, fatigue, exercise performance and recovery.

Creatine is also has osmolyte properties which are molecules that help regulate the balance of water in and out of cells maintain cellular hydration, which is important for proper cellular function and stability, and nutrient absorption. However, its primary role is in energy metabolism, where it is converted to phosphocreatine to rapidly regenerate ATP during high-energy demands.

Finally, when the body creates creatine it consumes significant amounts of methyl groups. These are chemical groups that are required for various biochemical processes in the body. By supplementing with creatine, the body’s need to produce these groups decreases meaning more methyl groups are available for other essential functions like DNA repair and neurochemical production

Creatine and Longevity

As we age, energy production becomes crucial for maintaining the health of cells, muscle mass and cognitive function. By supporting the mitochondria and the cells of the body, creatine may help counteract age related muscle loss. Research also shows that creatine may act as a neuroprotective agent and support cognitive function. Although more studies are needed to confirm these benefits in humans, these findings highlight creatine’s promising role in promoting healthy aging and potentially extending healthspan.

Is it for you?

Consider the following statements. If you find one or more relatable, Creatine might be the support you’ve been searching for:

  • I am looking to enhance my strength and power during resistance training. I’ve read studies that creatine may support my goals.
  • I experience mental fatigue or difficulty concentrating and want to use creatine as a cognitive aid.
  • My diet includes very little in the way of animal protein, I want to supplement with creatine to increase my body’s stores.
  • I’m searching for a supplement to support my mitochondrial health.
  • My doctor or trainer recommended creatine as part of a health or performance-focused protocol.
  • I’ve read about creatine’s potential to support healthy ageing and cellular function and want to incorporate it into my wellness routine.

Certainty of purity.

We are committed to the following quality controls to ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency in every product. Our goal is to raise industry standards and give you clear reasons to trust what you’re taking.

All products are made to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, the global benchmark for supplement quality. GMP standards ensure strict control over how our supplements are produced, covering everything from cleanliness to documentation and quality control. Every step is monitored to guarantee consistency and safety in every batch, so you receive the same high-quality product every time.

Created by the US FDA, GMP regulations legally require manufacturers to ensure product safety, purity, and effectiveness. GMP minimises contamination, mix-ups, and errors, protecting consumers from ineffective or unsafe products.

GMP Guidelines Overview:

  • Manufacturing facilities must maintain a clean, hygienic environment in all areas, including labs and storage.
  • Facility design, operations, and environmental conditions must prevent cross-contamination of drug products and materials.
  • Manufacturing processes must be clearly defined, validated, and controlled to ensure consistency and compliance. Any process changes are evaluated for patient safety and product quality, with necessary validation.
  • Instructions and procedures must be written clearly and unambiguously.
  • Operators must be trained to follow approved procedures for production and control.
  • Records should be kept during manufacturing and quality control to confirm that all required steps and quality standards were met.
  • Discrepancies are investigated and documented.
  • Processes should remain controlled throughout the product life cycle, with improvements as needed.
Records of manufacturing and distribution must be retained in an accessible format to trace the complete batch history.

At the foundation of what we offer is certainty of product quality through consistent third-party testing, specifically for purity.

In an industry where many supplement providers cannot be fully certain of their product quality, third-party testing is essential to ensure purity and safety. This process removes uncertainty, so you can be confident that you’re taking supplements that are both safe and effective.

Every active ingredient in every batch of vitalityPRO products is independently tested by accredited laboratories to ensure unbiased analysis of purity.

Additional third-party testing screens for contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes, ensuring that each product is safe for consumption. Although certificates are provided by the manufacturer, this independent validation goes beyond standard testing, adding an extra layer of quality control.

Independent third-party testing ensures that you receive reliable, high-quality products every time.

ISO 9001:2015 standards are an internationally recognised framework for effective quality management. This accreditation means we follow a structured system of continuous improvement, always refining our processes to enhance product consistency and customer satisfaction. Frequently Asked Questions

A loading dose is an initial, higher amount of creatine taken over a short period to rapidly saturate the muscles with creatine. However, recent research indicates that this approach isn’t necessary. Studies have shown that a consistent daily dose—often referred to as a maintenance dose—can effectively raise and saturate muscle creatine levels over time without the need for an initial loading phase. This not only minimises potential side effects, such as gastrointestinal discomfort, but also simplifies the supplementation protocol while still providing proven benefits.

Creatine monohydrate is the most widely studied and scientifically supported form of creatine. Pürest Creatine™ is produced to strict purity standards and independently tested to verify low levels of common creatine impurities, giving consumers confidence in the quality and consistency of every batch.
